The only way to describe this rendition of Jay-Z, is to compare it to any rendition of the traditional blackface dolls of the past. All Eric So had to do was attach a lantern to this figure. It is a shame to see a doll like this one being past off as a tribute to the star.
Almost all of the names that go along with these dolls are related to something derogatory.
Titles of Hong Kong dolls being called Lazy Mother Fucka and Lazy Children, modeled after characters that represent the Hip Hop culture. Are these the best names that they can come up with? Even Bathing Ape is a good name for a sick KKK joke. Again, all of this merchandise is geared to the Streets, so why the merchandise selling out? Maybe the culture has sold out.
