In celebration of modern art’s most controversial form, graffiti, WFMU
will dedicate a show to the outlawed aerosol artform through interviews
and hip-hop music: exploring its history, its place in the art world, its
impact on commerce and advertising, plus its ever-increasing legal
battles. In an examination of these topics, Billy Jam will host a round
table discussion with studio guests that will include graffiti artists
MUCK, EZO, DEMER, HOST18, and TABOO plus graffiti photo-journalists Jim &
Karla Murray: authors of the critically acclaimed books “Burning New York”
and “Broken Windows.” The WFMU Graffiti Special will broadcast live on
“Put the Needle on the Record” with Billy Jam on Friday, March 30th,
3PM-6PM. Call ins welcome.
