When: from Tuesday, 30 September 2008 until Tuesday, 28 October 2008
Where: Art Factory Gallery and Studio
What: Exhibitions (museums/galleries)
“The exhibition will feature graffiti inspired works by leading artists of the Hungarian street art scene including Stark Attila, Babos Zsili, Kovács Budha Tomi and Strabag winner Barakonyi Zsombor, as well as early works by Bodoni Zsolt. All of these artists are Academy-trained and bring the street influence into their studio produced artworks.
A primary focus of the exhibition will be a mural-on-canvas, produced in situ by artists from the exhibition. There will also be a continual screening of Bukta Ildikó’s documentary about the Hungarian street art scene, as well as photography and animation by Degrell Kata. Chief curator of the show is art historian Vekony Delia, assisted by artist Novák Zoltán.
‘From Street to Studio: the Keith Haring Legacy in Hungary’ coincides with a major Keith Haring exhibition showing at the Ludwig Museum this fall. In the 1980s Keith Haring was a famous New York graffiti artist whose distinctive line drawings brought him international fame and success.
